About Justin Sharaf

With almost 20 years of experience across some of the biggest B2B, B2C, and PLG brands in the world, Justin has the skills needed to help with whatever marketing or business challenges your company is facing. Justin has served many roles over his career, including Head of Marketing for a small PE-backed start up, VP of Marketing Operations for a mid-size unicorn, and Director of Marketing Operations for a $4B public company. His experience doing the work in addition to holding leadership positions is what makes him uniquely qualified to help with all Marketing Ops, Revenue Ops, or Go-To-Market needs. He started at the bottom, so he knows what it takes to get results at all levels, and he knows how to identify talent and motivate employees. Why the name "GIR"?

In golf, a "Green in Regulation" or "GIR" is achieved when your ball reaches the putting green in the expected number of shots. That expected number varies based on hole length.

The crowning achievement is to get 18 GIRs in an 18-hole round of golf, but the best golfers in the world average about 66% achievement of this lofty goal. Most golfers hover between 10-30%.

In business, companies also set lofty goals, and achieving 66% of those goals should be seen a world-class achievement, rather than a disappointment. 

GIR is about realizing that goals are important, but what's more important is setting realistic goals for your company and celebrating the successes, rather than bemoaning the failures.
